Stay safe from unauthorised bank account withdrawals!

There have been recent reports in the media on unauthorised withdrawals of funds from local bank accounts, which have raised concerns on the security of customer information. However, preliminary investigations have revealed that no bank employee has been involved in the activity of selling classified information to third parties. (Click here for the press release issued by The Association of Banks in Malaysia).

We, at EON Bank, are working hard to ensure that scams, especially through short message service (SMS) and "phishing" websites targeting unsuspecting customers, are put to a stop.

You can do your part in ensuring the safety of your bank accounts by keeping the following in mind:

  • Never respond to emails, phone calls or SMS asking for your personal or account information, such as your account number, password, or ATM PIN. (EON Bank will never ask you to reveal your Internet Banking password or ATM PIN).
  • To access EON Bank Internet Banking, always type www.eonbank.com.my or access it from your own saved browser "Favourites" list. Never access our website from email links or attachments. (Click here for more information on online security)
  • If you feel your bank account has been compromised, act fast and inform our 24-Hour Contact Centre at 03-2616 1133
